My Hobby

So many books, so little time~
my TBR list grows and grows.
Will I ever finish them all?
The answer here is~no one knows.
I set my Goodreads Challenge goal
when each New Year's Day rolls around
and knock a couple hundred off~
but just as many new are found.
 
I used to read one at a time,
but little headway did I make
so I expanded to read more
and now read seven, maybe eight.
I cannot live without a book
to while away my waking hours;
they fill my shelves, they crowd my rooms,
tottering in tipsy towers.
 
I read upon my waking up,
I read between my cleaning chores,
in bathroom, kitchen, living room;
I read inside and out of doors.
I read at home or on the go,
in restaurants or waiting rooms,
on vacation, at work or play;
I read in mornings, nights, and noons.
 
I aim to finish my whole list~
to achieve this great endeavor,
I will not die until I'm done
so I guess I'll live forever!
