Substance Or Style?

by GoWiSt

Yes, Biden looked and acted his age;

He’s 82, for crying out loud!

If you’re ever lucky to get to that age

Then you may ridicule and eschew,

Though I doubt you will.

But if you looked

Beyond the awkward pauses,

Stuttering repetitions, raspy voice

And mental gaffes,

The substance and policies

Of his message were solid,

Sound and beneficial

To all of America--

And the world!

Yes, Trump exuded more energy,

Was spry and quick-witted.

But, in essence, all he did

Was spout falsehoods,

Delusions of grandeur

And empty rhetoric.

"Mr. Trump, can you please

Answer these questions over here?"

"Well, first, let me use 90% of my time

To answer those ones over there."

“Deport all the illegals!”

He cries. But how feasible—

Or legal—is that?

“The illegals have taken black jobs,

American jobs!” he riles.

I didn’t know jobs came

Color and ethnically coded.

And why weren’t Americans

Already doing these ‘American jobs’

In the first place?

All of America’s problems

Come from illegals

And the mind of Biden,

According to Trump.

But, what fairly thinking American

Would believe this?

Yes, illegals commit crimes,

But even more so do Americans—

Against themselves!

If (when?) Trump loses,

Will he accept and concede peacefully?

America, the choice is clear:

Substance or style?

Your move in November.

God bless America!
