Sabrina is a lonely little girl.

Imaginary Friend

by Monica Chaddick

Sabrina watched her siblings ride away on their bikes. Her tricycle wasn't fast enough to keep up, and they wouldn't let her go, anyway. A tear ran down her cheek. She wanted a friend of her own. She went and sat under a tree. Suddenly, a little girl was standing in front of her.

Hi, my name is Naomi.” the little girl said.

She sat next to Sabrina and they talked. They played the rest of the day. At dinner that night, Sabrina had Mom set an extra plate for Naomi. The two friends became inseparable.

Her siblings questioned her about Naomi, but she told them to leave her alone. She no longer tried to tag along with her siblings. When she started school, she found that Naomi was there, too. The only odd thing was that no one except Sabrina was ever able to see or hear her.
