The Beloved of God

Transition

Sedoka Poem Contest Winner

With much grief they came,
gathering with muffled cries
to wish their loved one farewell.

With great cries of joy,
a throng of heavenly hosts
now welcome their loved one home.

Writing Prompt
For this challenge you will write a sedoka.
This is a Japanese form that consists of two unrhymed poems that MAY show the same scene from two different perspectives or angles.
Each one has a syllable count of 5/5/7

Here's an example:

The cat's meowing
Pleads her case convincingly
Hunger gleams in golden eyes

Missus Smith's tutting
Suggests the cat's been eating
Far too much for her own good

Sedoka Poem
Contest Winner

PLEASE NOTE: the correct syllable count for this Sedoka poem is 5-7-7 (and not 5-5-7). This correction is noted by the contest creator in a thread on the contest page.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
