A chapter in the book 2024 Gypsy's Free Verse
I Lost Her
by Gypsy Blue Rose
my voice sought the wind to reach her but she belongs to another
her voice, her body, her eyes linger dormant in my heart telling myself I don’t love her
it’s true our love didn’t last and after time it died
we forgot the way our bodies intertwined
because on nights like this with her body next to mine she trembled in my arms
now all that remains are dying embers and emptiness ~ I lost her ~

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem. It's inspired by Pablo Neruda poetry. I write from a man's point of view, just to try something different.
