A Typical Day At Wal-Mart

by Monica Chaddick

The crackhead is dancing by the Pepsi machine
He's feeling real good, if you know what I mean

His phone hangs from his neck on a chain
He's got his bling, though his attire is plain

Now this woman ~ her baby is ready to drop
And she is in a body suit made of Daisy Dukes and a crop top

Those girls over there are about to fight
They used to be best friends, but they are no longer “tight”

The little old lady fiddles with her purse
Drops her list, then her pen, and then she starts to curse

Her daughter would help if she would only let her
Unfortunately, it never seems to get better

Seagulls and pigeons make their homes on the roof
If you don't believe me, look at the cars for proof

Pushing, cutting, and snide remarks abound
Sometimes you get caught up just going around

One register open, the self-check is jammed
In these long lines bad tempers are crammed

You know what is sad?  The worst of this part
Is that all of this is a typical day at Wal-Mart!
