Bigfoot Meets a Starfish

he is large
and in charge
so he thinks
but a golden
starfish chases
North America's
most popular primate
along a sandy beach

she laughs at him
"What a strange human!"

yelling back
"I am not human!"

she chuckles
and sings

a sea dweller
who carries a tune,
the giant ape
stops, listens

the musical notes
flow like salty water
in a tranquil realm

he enjoys the melody
her points
sway in rhythm
like waves embracing
the shore

he remains with her
for awhile
as she performs
musical renditions
of popular tunes

her appendages wave
as he meanders away
reminding himself
of the strange beings
outside his forest home

but he knows he will
return to find
the talented starfish
