A Final Journal Entry
The Last Christmas
by Videl Sky
December 25th, 3666
- cut firewood
- reinforce the fence
- food & water run (more alcohol?)
- celebrate! break out the peanut butter & crackers!
Done! (I’ll admit, I was lazy and skipped to the fourth step.) But it’s cold and it’s a holiday – I should get a break!
got drunk and all I could think about was my wife and my daughter and how they died screaming for me to save them, I couldn’t save them I’m useless
I wonder sometimes how much longer I’ll last, now that it’s winter
Eh, who knows, maybe it’ll be alright! It's Christmas after all!
Journal Drabble writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt You keep a journal regularly. Something devastating or apocalyptic happens. You are no more. At some point in the future, your journal is discovered. What does the final entry say? Anything goes for 100 words. |
