Message for posterity
The last journal entry
by Wojciech Gurak
Will anyone survive this catastrophe? Perhaps. I still hope that only 99.9999% will perish. Not all, as the experts adamantly state. I hope that there will be adequate number of people to rebuild our civilization. It was good, but it could have been better.
I write because of my belief that my journal will be read.
So, what does really matter? People, values and relationships. Not wealth, nor power. Create a society in which everyone feels welcome and valued.
BTW, x marks the spot, where I hid the stolen Van Gogh painting. It’s my gift to posterity. It must survive.
Journal Drabble writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt You keep a journal regularly. Something devastating or apocalyptic happens. You are no more. At some point in the future, your journal is discovered. What does the final entry say? Anything goes for 100 words. |
