My family's lives were forever changed by the Covid pandemic. As an in-school program supervisor for children, my job ended--after 55 years of working, sometimes two jobs at a time, I was sitting at home, idle. I also lost a dear friend to Covid. I spent the next school year homeschooling my grandchildren who were doing virtual learning--my granddaughter is deaf/blind & unable to use a computer so I was the conduit between her team of Special Ed. teachers and her. Just as we thought the worst was over, my daughter was hospitalized with Covid &, the day after she returned home, I was admitted for the same. We were just getting back on our feet. Due to the disease, we'd been unable to visit my dad who was 99 years old. We hadn't seen him for 4 months. On Thanksgiving, my brother called to say he'd passed away. He was 3 months short of his 100th birthday. We were devastated-he'd been our rock for so long. The photo is one of the last times we'd been able to get together--a driveway picnic Father's Day celebration. He is dearly missed.
