Remembrance

by poetwatch

What once was

is no more,

just the memory remains

of what it was.

The willow trees are moaning

in the wind,

“Where are you, the breeze sways?”

As a fish swims by

looking for a morsel of your love,

its hunger is forgotten.

Like that lonely bench built for two...

it is no more.
