The Slow One
A New Pair Of Glasses
Hiding in the very back
Everything would fade to black
I would squint and try to see
On the blackboard A to Z
Slouching in the last row
Maybe I was just slow
When the teacher called on me
No one knew I couldn't see
English and geometry
Algebra and history
Suddenly in all my classes
I was wearing my new glasses!
Once they thought I didn't care
Now my hand was in the air
Tortoise shell or wire rim
I had all the answers then!
