It’s weird growing up

and how time always makes up

a part of the reason why people give up

And it’s weird that we packed up 

all of this stuff

we bubble-wrapped

the breakables but 

overlooked our trust 

My keepsakes

were kept safe

although, I wish it had been us

Our promises were in 

 the glass vase that fell 

while only ever having held

flower buds

And to not be enough

And that love is something

that people give up
