Growing together

Jenny isn’t into reading: I was delighted she was willing to read to me “for ten minutes”. 

Gradually she snuggled in more closely. Growing up fast meant fewer cuddles. Fifty minutes later, she’d finished. I was pleased.

Turning to me, she pronounced, “There’re two hairs growing together on your chin!”
