Colors of Life

Short and Colorful Contest Winner

Nothing is ever black or white

Although you may believe that is true

If that is true, then there is no right

Even under the red, white, and blue.

Take the black, the evil, the horrid.

The flames that fly; they are hot.

Living in the black is most torrid.

When will the context inform the plot?

Then we have white, angelic, and pure

Anyone there who can fit that bill?

Could be an angel or a god for sure,

Who does not a drop of red blood spill.

Then look at context and illusion

A new lens as another way to see

The world in all its great confusion.

A black path could be the way to eternity.

What do you want? What do you crave?

What color do you think would be yours?

Are you quiet and clam or almost brave

Enough to battle true color wars?

Don’t you know that colors don’t matter.

The meanings are lost on us all

What is Red? Blue? So much chatter

Colors will make America fall

Bring on the rainbow of  innocence.

Such color can enliven your space,

Pray for the colors of magic and dance

And then see the difference and grace.
