Life in Gaza

War Victims

by tempeste

Ahmed loved to play
ball with his peers in the streets
'til there was an explosion.

Waking without hands,
in tears, he asks his father :
" Will they grow back when I'm big ? "

Sedoka Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a sedoka poem. A sedoka consists of two unrhymed three-line stanzas, each with a syllable count of 5 - 7 - 7.
Often these stanzas go at the same subject from different perspectives, but that is not a requirement.

31,000 civilians have died in Gaza. 10,000 were children.

Another 1,000 have lost one or both legs. Some their arm or like in Ahmed's case both hands.

His ordeal was mentioned in a recent speech against war crimes carried out by the IDF in the Gaza Strip.

The 5-year-old child asked his father if his hands would grow back when he would be big.
Surgeons for months have been often forced to amputate without anesthesia, due to the lack of medical supplies being stopped from entering Gaza by the IDF.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
