Media hype and Fizz

Here We Go Again

by Claire Tennant

Who is that making all the noise in need of much attention
could it be the media boys in vindictive assertion?
opinions that are based on fact are reduced in number
tearing people down at any faux pas or blunder
it does not matter where you are in the UK or USA
Australia follows suit in a spectacular display
political argy-bargy and contempt the rule of the day
a spectacular vote of thanks for the hard yakka way

Well we say 'God Save our gracious King'
who dares to make decisions
regarding the coffers sure I'd like some
of those mighty provisions
but I did not earn it and he gives to charity
of time and grace so out of place in today's society
as for politics oh dear me, our leaders are atrocious
egotists and cowards most, with harsh tones to their voices

Ah well I had my chance to go into politics
today, I would fail big time methinks
"Open your mouth and change feet hen."
the Glaswegians would say
Foot-in-mouth disease the rule of the day
och well if you're going to spend the day on Facebook
you are likely to remain a silly 'auld chook'
far better that you improve the endearing gifts you lack
you will still be accepted by your fur child 'Wee' Zack
