Just My Luck

A door opens I hear a voice
I would run away from choice
here she is the overbearing pain
intent to sit beside me again

How to avoid looking bored
being ladylike is a chore
especially when the overbearing pain
repeats her stories again and again
'Did I hear of such and such?'
'A million times, thanks so much!'

That's it I can take no more
I lift some water but at the core
there is something wrong with the weight
mischievously I hesitate
then with strength and dread
I pour said water over her head
