February Tornadoes

by ExperiencingLiphe

Tearing through the countryside,
no one is guaranteed safe,
making its own path of destruction.

Devastation is left behind,
houses destroyed,
and animals left scattered.

Power is lost,
cell towers downed,
communication with loved ones is gone.

Families panic,
not knowing who is safe,
uncertainty doesn't feel good.

Neighbors gather,
one by one they band together,
rebuilding their lives.

February tornadoes were never a thing,
this time making their voices heard,
while, we waited them out.

Hoping this isn't a new pattern,
praying it's a one time occurrence,
knowing Mother Nature is her own beast.

We had our first February tornadoes in Wisconsin. The one was on the ground for like 30 minutes. There was a second on the ground for I think just over 10 minutes. They went through a couple cities. They hit the outskirts of them all. My husbands sister lives about a half mile from where it went through by her. Another little city got hit pretty hard. It's all about rebuilding now.
