Who knew she had talent?
Cry Me A River
by jim vecchio
She was a timid, shy, lame Plain Jane.
I beat on her now and then.
Maury let her go on stage one night. Strictly for laughs.
How was I to know this gal could sing? She wowed that audience!
This girl just wouldn’t listen to me anymore.
She was a caterpillar, wanting to be a butterfly.
The dame walked out on me.
Ten years later, she was headlining at the Copa.
I ran straight onstage, squeezed her tightly. I begged.
“Baby! Come back to me! I cried a river over you!”
“I wouldn’t cry a puddle over you!” she laughed.
