The Egg and I

Not quite awake,

wishing I was still sleeping

Needed caffeine to start my routin.

Bread was toasting,

coffee was brewing.

Broke the egg in the hot pan,

all was according to my morning plan.

The egg needed turning,

before it was burning.

With spatula in hand I gave it a flip.

I was shocked to see

that egg was looking back at me
