Singing Sunsets

by Videl Sky

Sunsets should be a sad affair,
The shuttering of a day
Getting ready to prepare
The moon must make its way
~
But in that one spilt second
Colors erupt through the sky
Picasso’s art must be reckoned
A comparative failure, I descry
~
Clouds billowing out of reach
Contrasting colors catch my eye
A vision of soft blue and peach
This beauty I cannot deny
~
And though they mark the end
With the darkness that they bring
At this farm, I do commend
The sunsets always sing
