remembering a dear friend

In Memory

She was a dear friend
in the hobby of our choice
providing wisdom
I can still hear her voice
she comforted and guided
quoting scripture or just prayed
when I felt all was lost
or I had strayed

She had her own troubles
only once walking astray
serving time behind cage-like bars
but leading the way
for others to accept the one
who sacrificed His all
her health deteriorated
she thought the sacrifice small

I spoke of her the other day
I still feel so sad
as I remember the friendship we had
when I get to heaven, I will see my gorgeous pal
you're guiding me still and always will our dear Val

We all handle situations differently, some good, some bad. This contest gives us the ability to explore this.
