a certain person can't take a joke

graphic ad brings no joy

by jake cosmos aller

The graphic ad

On the TV

Part of the Lincoln Project

Endless mockery

Of a certain candidate.

Brought him no joy.

For he lacked

The humor gene.

Just did not get

Humor, satire,

Did not get

The late-night TV comics

And most human jokes.

Just like he did not get

Poetry!

A connection, perhaps.

He could be funny

In a mad comic way.

Making fun of his enemies

In the extreme,

Often offensive manner.

But famously could not

Take a joke

At his expense.

Like most would be

Autocratic leaders

Could not stand

Being mocked.

He was consumed

With the thought

Of revenge

Against his enemies.

Thinking of their death

And punishment.

Revenge

The only spice

In his hateful,

Joyless life.

The Lincoln Project has been producing satirical ads mocking the former President since his first election, second election, and now his third election. They are in-your-face, satirical, hard-hitting, and at least to this writer, extremely funny. I suppose to his supporters, and him, not so funny.
