Share your pain, don't freeze your heart

Frozen Branch

by T.A. Walk

Like the branch in the photo included,

Your heart has frozen.

The pain you thought you had eluded,

The consequences of a life chosen,

Have finally taken their toll.

After while this branch will break,

Like your heart has now.

The feelings you fought to try to fake,

Conversations you didn’t know how,

Trapped you like a fish in a bowl.

But the tree the branch grew from,

Will make it through.

With little more than a green thumb,

A gardener can help the tree renew,

So, it can again take control.

Look for a gardener to tend to you,

Set your heart aflame.

Recovery from the worst life can do,

Forgiveness for your personal shame,

Can forever make you whole.
