Book Readers

I bought a book to read today,
today when all my thoughts were scattered.
 
Scattered like poetic words,
 Words discarded that never mattered.
 
Mattered more, this book I bought,
bought to wile away the hours.
 
Hours passed. I sailed on dreams,
dreams of princes, ivory towers.
 
Towers of books in corners lie,
lie with brilliant dusty jackets.
 
Jackets, bindings, imagination,
imagination helps you fly.
 
Fly with me to secret places,
places you may never see.
 
See in your mind's eye, imagine,
imagine all that you can be.
