One of those 'Who would have thought' moments.
Fleeting Moment
by Claire Tennant
My family has always been great fans of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. I was involved with two productions in my youth; but my brother has been involved for years as was our Mum in her heyday. With Dad being a professional musician, like too much iron, music is in the blood.
Some years back we went as a family to see said brother in a lead role. I stared at the hero. Who did he remind me of? I could not figure it out, and it bugged me. At the interval when family friends came to chat, I mentioned this to one of them; she smiled.
"Look at the dark wig and the face."
"Eh?"
"He looks like you. He is fair and you are dark but you both have the same smile."
She was right. I had never before nor since seen the likeness.
