Encounter in the mirror
Encounter in the mirror
by Iza Deleanu
As I walked into my house, I was shivering from the cold. I had forgotten how brutal winters can be in this part of the world. As I entered my bedroom, I noticed something shimmering in the corner. It was a mirror, but it was not reflecting me but someone else. I stretched out my hand as if saluting him.
"Ola!" he mimicked me.
Surprised, I stretched out my hand, and it went through. "Ola!" I said.
"We are now connected; welcome to my world, Pura Vida!" he said.
"I arrived just in time. It's minus twenty-two degrees. I could use some Pura Vida with lots of 'sol.' How long can I stay? And what happens if we break the mirror?" I asked.
"Nothing! The mirror is now a part of you. If you get tired of the connection, all you have to say is, 'Mirror, switch off!'" he replied.
