Snowman

by HarryT

Snowflakes dancing down from the sky
Winking and blinking while they drift by
Gathering together to make blankets white
Not many kids can resist a good snowball fight

Let’s build a snowman! We need balls of snow
Little ball for his head, a middle, big one below
Eyes made of buttons, tree branches for arms
A carrot for his nose, a mouth of Lucky Charms

Mittens for his hands, and a scarf of blue
A wool cap for his head, and sunglasses too
Kids dance about and sing the Frosty song
Love him though they know he can’t stay long

The sun will grow warm, he will start to melt
Kids are sad, remembering the fun they felt
Mom says, “I know you’re upset. He must go away.”
Dad says, “Hey Guys, he can come next snowy day.”
