Miss Sigman is my teacher
And as fun as she can be
She teaches us that learning things
Is just a mystery!
A mystery that we can solve
By asking lots of questions
Or look things up to find things out
And following directions!
To memorize the alphabet
We sing our ABC's
Miss Sigman helps us learn the tune
From A to XYZ's!
I love to count my numbers
And we practice every day
Sometimes I use my fingers
If we add or take-away!
It's circle time and it's so fun
A special treat we've earned
Miss Sigman reads a brand new book
Then asks us what we've learned!
I raise my hand and hold it high
I wiggle with delight
I'm sure I know the answer
And just know I'll get it right!
It's time to go to recess now
We line up one-by-one
The leader of the line today
Is my friend, Henderson!
We all want to be leader
But Miss Sigman's voice is stern
"Be patient, kind and understand
You each will get your turn!"
When noon-time comes, it's time for break
With friends we sit in bunches
To laugh or talk and rest our brains
While we eat healthy lunches!
Then after lunch, it's science time
We learn from Mr. Michael
What helps our planet to stay clean...
Reduce, Re-use, Recycle!
It's social studies time right now
Miss Sigman then asks Brent
If he might know who did become
America's first President!
Brent is very smart and so
"George Washington!" he hollers
Then adds, "...he's really famous 'cause
His picture's drawn on dollars!"
It's almost time to say good-bye
The school day ends - it's Friday
Miss Sigman prompts us all to check
To see our cubby's tidy!
Reminding us, "Do not forget
(So moms and dads can take a peek)
And bring home all your class work things
To show them what we've learned this week!"
Miss Sigman gives us one last smile
Then waves us on our way
And says we'll solve new mysteries
When schools starts next Monday!
