A Ghost of Christmas

A bright star in the east

proves three treats

Hasten the train

to the mangers stay

here

wrapped in swaddle

straw for a bed

a rock for his head

no turkey trifle or mulled wine

just

lambs goats and hens

No wonder he shone looking at his gifts

gold frankincense and myrrh

all for the child

where none could find

Best remember

he’s the son of God

just as well the wise men were kind.

With his gift

he gives us grace

his love released

when all was lost.
