Wobble Forward.

Clipped

by Mickey Romy

CLIPPED by Mickey Romy

Without the provocation to become aerial

nestling on ground flocked my existence

Albeit the heavens magnetized my name

While mocking this mockingbird

I told my shoes to take a hike

Confiding in penguins with iced feathers

I now follow the lead of my feet

My beak mimics the breeze of flight

My ears invite clouds of delight

I wobble, wobble, wobble!

Thunderous those whispers from beyond

The chirps of my ancestors echo

With the awakening of a cock-a-doodle-do

And resilience of a hummingbird’s beat

I’ve become my true heart’s bounce
