Fluency and Articulation!
Speech Therapy Strategies
by Kristen Rose Ulrich
Professor Fanstorian Contest Winner
Hello. My name is Kristen Rose Ulrich. I am a speech therapist, and I work with children in a school. This means that I specialize in speech and language disorders. If you know someone who stutters by prolonging a sound in a word, have them take a deep breath. This will help to pull them out of their disfluency. Also if you know someone who has trouble saying the, "r" sound, have them say, "Karla" and this will help to improve their production of the, "r" sound. If you know someone who lisps, have them put their tongue behind their teeth and not in between their teeth. This is how the, "s" sound is made. If your child, family member, or friend, has these difficulties, I hope that these strategies will help them.
