Things hoped for
Faith
by Wayne Fowler
You may pray for world peace all day, but unless your faith is supported by tested and reliably proven instances, your faith is notably deficient. Put more simply, unless you have tried your faith in the healing of a headache, it is unlikely that you possess the faith to effect the healing of cancer. Or, if you only have a nickel’s worth of faith, you may not purchase a dollar value of anything.
Now, lest you despair, should a goal require a dollar’s worth of effort, and your nickel is joined by nineteen other souls all contributing their nickel’s worth, then it is possible that the necessary degree of faith is satisfied.
That is, as long as the goal aligns with heavenly values and desired outcomes. For example: if my cancer results in advancing the Kingdom, a hundred thousand jillion units of faith may not result in my concept of success.
Study God’s Word. Establish a trusting relationship. Pile up measures of faith starting by believing God to direct your every step. Ask God His plan, and then trust accordingly.
Class Is In Session writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Your goal is to teach your fellow Fanstorians something they did not already know. It is a bonus if you make it interesting. The only solid rule is you have to do it in 200 words or less. |
