The Man I Call Kim

He had a voice that melted the kilos

of all I had done wrong

erasing the weight of darkness

as he showed me I was strong

learning from the past adventures

that brought me to a place

where contempt  and lack of tact

crowded my space

He took my hand and walked with me

closer to the shore

raised my chin upwards

lovingly showed me more

his lips were warm and tender

likewise his embrace

creating such splendour

lovingly he traced

the path of tears still streaming

to meet at my tilted chin

little wonder I would fall for

the man I call Kim

Several months of friendship

but love found a way

of merging two tender hearts

I thought we would marry one day

I saw him with another

if I was in doubt

the diamond on her finger

sorted that dream out

I may never love another

quite as I loved him

at times I remember fondly
