Springtime a season sublime

cushioned with crime

here in Melbourne

no matter the weather

crime gets better

no discipline and respect

call it neglect

The heat makes its mark

when you walk in the park

or along the beach

where the seagulls' screech

then it goes cold

your blankets unfold

one can always depend

on your woollen friend

grass in its season

without rhyme or reason

a succulent green

or so it would seem

until summer’s heat

melts your skin, and the street
