As winter nears I dream of...

Soothing Spring

by Boogienights

As winter wanes, spring waits to take her place,
with vibrant greens, the landscape she will paint.
While frozen waterways will start to race,
freed from their icy bonds, with no restraint.

The birds will soon return from southern states,
their songs will fill the air with joyful sound.
As warmer winds prevail and frost abates,
then wildlife that slumbered, will abound.

Awakened and quite eager to explore,
the mama bears, with cubs, will greet the day,
while searching for the berries they adore,
still stopping though, a while, so they can play.

The fields awash with color greet the eye,
with lovely hues of yellow, red, and blue.
The sights and scents not easy to pass by,
as spring puts on her show for us to view.

While winter has its charms, there's no debate,
spring brings a sense of hope right from the start.
My favorite season, I just cannot wait,
this time of year will always warm my heart.
