Rainbow Tableau

A storm’s scent lingers
as light pierces clouds
the colorful bridge
sweeps across the sky
harmonious hues
where rain and sun meet

This week we are learning how to write a TABLEAU poem. You may use the events picture or your own.

TABLEAU is a poetry form created by American poet, Emily Romano, in October of 2008. Its considered the American haiku, senryu, and Tanka. As with Japanese poetry, Tableau uses imagery and syllable count. It consists of one or more verses. THE FORM IS 6 LINES AND 5 SYLLABLES PER LINE. IT CAN BE RHYMED OR FREE VERSE. THE TITLE INCLUDES THE WORD TABLEAU The word tableau means a representation of a picture. A picture should come to mind as the poem is read.
