First to Take it With Him

Once there was a rich man.

A narcissist was he,

Who swore whenever he would die,

"I'll take my wealth with me!"

Indeed, he struck a deal with God

A contract deemed so bold,

That when he reached the Pearly Gates,

He'd bring his crates of gold.

So when he proudly passed away

To Heaven he was sent.

St. Peter checked inside those crates

And laughed."You brought pavement?"
