Lost my Marbles

by poetwatch

When I was young and fancy free

I’d play and run like a donkey.

But then one day I met the ground

And heard a bell ring out this sound

“Bong! bong!” so strong within my head.

I lay still. Dad thought I was dead.

Then, I got up but could not play.

I couldn't remember eating hay.

On that day, I lost my marbles.

I looked under all the stables

Searched the ground and behind each tree,

But nowhere did I find or see.

Now, I’m a horse wearing hobbles,

I can’t run, I lost my marbles.

Write a rhyming poem about something you have lost - not someone.

I hope to bring a smile with something I just made up. :) Don't know if I'll succeed cause I don't know where my head is.

Thank you, eileen for the Headless Horse.
