Where Can Mr. Antlers Be?

Oh, Deer!

by jim vecchio

Did I leave my antlered creature
In the theater at the double feature?

Or in the swamp, in the muck
Is that where I lost my buck?

Maybe when I bought my medicine
-Hope he’s not turned to venison

I’m so tired, I must yawn
-Can’t sleep till I’ve found my fawn

I tell you, it’s so aggravating
Where is that creature ruminating?

Is he with some female, playing tag?
-No, at parties, he always goes stag

In the forest, I find no answers
No one’s seen a glimpse of antlers

There’s no footprints, not a hoof
Did he suddenly go “poof?”

On four legs, he can move fast
Now I remember where I saw him last!

He ran off when I said “let’s go!”
-I left my hart in San Francisco!
