in prison as enemy of the state in the Christian States

prisoner 50720

by jake cosmos aller

When the American Christian Republican Party took over and established the Christian States of America, ushering in a Christian fascist dictatorship, Prisoner 57720 started his day in Prison Camp 5209 in the Arizona Desert, at 6 a.m. for roll call, then worked all day in the prison factory as unpaid labor. In the evenings, he went to mandatory Christian services and listened to the “news, before going to bed at 10 p.m. Just another day as a prisoner in the Christian States of America. He was just one of the millions of “enemies of the State” sentenced to “Re-education Camps.”

The Prisoner writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
In 100 words, or less, write a short story--not necessarily a flash-fiction, though it could be--on the theme/subject/topic of 'prisoner'. It could be literal or metaphoric.

If you listen and read the writings of the Right-wing, you can see if they win the Presidency, the Senate, and the House, they would move towards establishing a right-wing Christian Nationalist authoritarian state, where anyone who is not a Cisgender White Christian nationalist could be rounded up as enemies of the State. Abortion would be banned, LGTG status termed criminal again, and Christianity -fundamentalist conservative Christianity would be the national religion, the rights of non-Christians restricted, immigration limited to White Christians, illegal aliens deported and atheism and Muslim religion banned. and naturalized Americans not allowed to have security clearances for sensitive jobs, and birth-right citizenship ended, and US citizens overseas who have not maintained residency in the US stripped of their citizenship, citizenship would be limited to people who have one or two US citizen parents, born in the U.S., or naturalized citizenship.

Not to mention voting rights sharply curtailed, with absentee ballots limited to people who request them in advance with a valid excuse including service overseas in the military and government but not those working in the private sector or retired overseas. Mere status as a disabled person would not be sufficient excuse for an absentee ballot. .

These scenarios form the back story to this 100-word flash story. Some people will see this as a nightmare, others will be in favor of all the above. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
