Night Terror

In the dead of night, sleep shadows crawl

You hear a chilling animal call

In the dark, it stalks you as its prey

Horror of a nightmare comes to play

Breathing comes in short panicky bursts

You think, God, oh, God, have I been cursed?

Wake up with the coming of the dawn

Thankful, at last, the terror is gone
