What was I thinking
Apple Pics
A lovely family outing to the orchard we will go
We venture every autumn, to the place we've come to know
We stock up on those apples and my girls, they love it so
But now, my sassy preteen has an attitude to show
A year ago, she held my hand and listened while I taught her
This year, I fear a demon has possessed my darling daughter
The phone, in which she is obsessed, I wish I never bought her
I'd like to test my throwing arm and reach that river water
The weather is just gorgeous and the scenery divine
But all she wants to do is Tik-a-Tok or post online
Oh look, it's grass, let's take a pic, oh wow! A branch! A vine!
Another snap or post, I just might make her iPhone mine
A selfie here, a selfie there, I hear those texts-a-clicking
The time, just like my tolerance, wears thin as it keeps ticking
I try and try to warn her, but it seems my words aren't sticking
Best get to quittin’ Apple Pic'n while we're apple picking!
