Just a Small Sip

by Debi Pick Marquette

It started with just one small sip
Then we all wanted more
It took us on a little trip
A place called fun, galore

Just water, coffee, soda too
Is mostly what I drank
Now we all say more, "I love you"
But don't know who to thank

I felt a goofy, silly vibe
Unlike I'd ever known
And I will try best to describe
The spirit from this zone

I wanted to do crazy flips
And while I'm in the air
To see if I can take more sips
And not spill anywhere

Another two cups and a half
I wasn't really sure
Just what had made the people laugh
'Till everything's a blurr

It gave the party quite a kick
The joke that had been played
So at this adult church picnic
Who spiked the lemonade?
