A rondeau poem is required for this contest. It is a fixed form of poetry. It is often used in light or witty poems. It often has fifteen octo - or decasyllabic lines with three stanzas. It usually only has two rhymes used in the poem. A word or words from the first part of the first line are used as a refrain ending the second and third stanzas. Note: one of the most annoying features of listening to right-wing politicians is the constant refrain that communists and Marxists are out to destroy America and the world. the fact is that communism died in 1990. There are no real communists left anywhere. but to the right-wing fear of the non-existent communist threat is the latest boogeyman to fire up their rabid base.
