Cassie has to sing a song for an audience.
Cassie's Song
by Monica Chaddick

Cassie shifted nervously from foot to foot. They would call her name and then she would have to step out on the stage. She was so nervous! They introduced her, she stepped out, waving confidently.
Cassie stepped up to the microphone and took a deep breath. She gave a little nod, and as the music started to play she opened her mouth to sing. Her voice had a bit of a quiver, but it wasn't too bad.
As she began the second verse, the unthinkable happened. Instead of music, a resounding belch echoed through the auditorium, amplified by the microphone.
