Unsung Beauty

A noble beast. 
large, majestic,
with a unique beauty
that few see. 
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
most eyes must be myopic.  
 
Endangered. Hunted for his horn
because of false beliefs in medicinal myths.
He’s an herbivore,
no threat to other animals.
A bit clumsy and a little blind,
he keeps with his own kind,
happily grazing with his herd.
 
Is it wishful thinking,
wanting the whole world to see
what a magnificent creature
the rhinoceros is?
An aristocrat in his world.
