Finally, someone pressed the red button. No foot soldiers in this war. The exchange consisted of several hundred nuclear bombs. In a matter of months, over ninety-nine percent of the world's population was dead from radiation. Those who survived initially were dead within a year when their supplies ran out. There just remained sea life that was protected by the ocean water. In ten thousand years, when the Earth became habitable once more, life crawled ashore for the second time.
