Thomas visited Jennifer every evening. It was their favourite time of day. They would sit and watch as the sun met the horizon, and the moon began to ascend. They would search for the first star and make a wish together. In a far off tree an owl hooted what would become their love tune.

Tonight was no exception. Thomas heard the creak as Jennifer’s door opened and sensed her beckon him indoors. He climbed into the casket and wrapped his ghostly arms around the bones of his lover. The lid slammed shut just as neighbouring coffins did the same.
